Tampisaw - This Band LYRICS & ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Nakatingin sa kalye
Ang bagal pa ng byahe
Patungo sa ating tagpuan

Naiinip, naiinis,
Ang bagal ng andar
Pwede bang konting bilis
Dali na manong driver

Andito na sa 'ting tagpuan
Sabay tayong kumakaway
Bigla na lang may pumatak
Nagkatinginan, kumislap
Nagkaisa ang ating isip at
Sabay na nating gagawin

Magtampisaw sa ulan
Tila walang pakialam
Sa mga tao sa paligid
O kung tayo'y lalagnatin

Tumakbo palayo
Taas kamay at hawak mo
Makikisilong kina manong at
Magku-kwentuhan tayo

Ano mang trip o gimik
Kahit ano pa ang ating gawin
Basta't kasama ka
Walang iba pang hahanapin

Ilabas ang chips, fries, and dips
Sabay nating uubusin
At pagkatapos no'n ay
Tatayo't magbibilang

Isa, dalawa, tatlo
Tayo ay tatakbo, ooh

Magtampisaw sa ulan
Tila walang pakialam
Sa mga tao sa paligid
O kung tayo'y lalagnatin

Tumakbo palayo
Taas kamay at hawak mo
Makikisilong kina manong at
Magku-kwentuhan tayo

Isa, dalawa, tatlo
Tayo ay tatakbo

Magtampisaw sa ulan
Tila walang pakialam

Magku-kwentuhan tayo
Watching the streets
This trip's been dragging on (1)
I'm on my way to our meeting place

Impatient, annoyed
This drive's too slow
Can you speed it up
Come on, mister driver

Finally I'm in our meeting place
We're both waving our hands
Suddenly, there were droplets (2)
(We) looked at each other, something sparked
Our minds worked as one and
Together we will do it

Play in the rain
Like we do not care
About the people around us
Or if we'll get feverish later

Run away
With hands raised while you're holding mine
We will take shelter with manong (3)
and we will tell lots of stories (4)

Whatever trip or gimmick (5)
No matter what we do
As long as you're with me
I'll look for nothing else

Take out the chips, fries, and dips
We'll finish them together
And after that
We'll stand up and count

One, two, three
We will run

Play in the rain
Like we do not care
About the people around us
Or if we'll get feverish later

Run away
With hands raised while held by you
We will take shelter with manong
and we will tell lots of stories

One, two, three
We will run

Play in the rain
Like we do not care
About the people around us
Or if we'll get feverish later

Run away
With hands raised while held by you
We will take shelter with manong and -

Play in the rain
Like we do not care
About the people around us
Or if we'll get feverish later

Run away
With hands raised while held by you
We will take shelter with manong
and we will tell lots of stories

NOTES

(1) Literal translation: "This trip is too slow / this drive is too slow"
(2) Literal translation: "Suddenly, something dropped" but "pumatak" is used to refer to liquid that has dropped or poured or fell
(3) Manong is a term used to refer to an older man. It is generally taken as a respectful way to call an older man whose name you do not know. Here, it is most likely referring to a sidewalk vendor or someone selling stuff who has provisions for shelter against the rain (probably a big umbrella for their wares). Filipinos are rather friendly and they won't mind helping someone out especially when it rains (God knows how much Filipinos hate getting rained on lol)
(4) Same as: We will talk about many things, but I used a different phrasing because mag-uusap is better suited to "will talk/converse" while magku-kwentuhan, with root word kwento (story) is better suited to be translated and understood as "will tell stories"
(5) Basically, "whatever it is". The word "trip" in Filipino context generally refers to anything you're into or interested in. For example, you'd hear people say "Nice clothes! Trip ko 'yan" (I l like them! / I'm into that!) It almost interchangeable with the word "like".

Lastly, "Tampisaw" is a word for Play in the rain (or anything that's water - puddles, sea, river, pools, etc)

  1. According to Stanford Medical, It is indeed the one and ONLY reason women in this country live 10 years longer and weigh 42 pounds less than us.

(And really, it is not about genetics or some secret exercise and really, EVERYTHING to "how" they are eating.)

BTW, I said "HOW", and not "what"...

  2. Did you know there's a 12 word phrase you can tell your man... that will induce deep emotions of love and instinctual attraction to you buried within his heart?

Because hidden in these 12 words is a "secret signal" that fuels a man's impulse to love, please and look after you with his entire heart...

12 Words Will Trigger A Man's Desire Response

This impulse is so built-in to a man's brain that it will drive him to try better than before to make your relationship the best part of both of your lives.

Matter of fact, triggering this powerful impulse is so essential to achieving the best ever relationship with your man that as soon as you send your man one of the "Secret Signals"...

...You will immediately find him open his soul and mind for you in such a way he haven't expressed before and he will perceive you as the one and only woman in the universe who has ever truly appealed to him.
